SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — A man in Spotsylvania County shot and injured his father before turning the gun on himself, deputies say.
The Spotsylvania County Sherriff's Office responded to a reported shooting Wednesday night around 9:50 p.m. in the 3700 block of West Glen Dower Drive. Deputies say they found a man lying in the driveway with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
A second victim, later identified as the first man's estranged father, was found inside the home with a gunshot wound to an extremity. Detectives say the adult son showed up to the house and shot his father through the front door.
Both men were transported to a local trauma center, deputies say. The son is reportedly in critical condition, and his father is in stable condition. The sheriff's office did not provide any further details on the names or ages of the men, or what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
