THURMONT, Md. — A Pennsylvania man was arrested on attempted murder and gun charges after a reported road rage incident in Frederick County on Wednesday.
Maryland State Troopers say 37-year-old Bryant Paradine of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, shot through another driver's car shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the area of southbound US15 at Tippin Drive. Troopers responded to a call made by the victim, who was uninjured in the road rage incident.
The victim described the shooter's vehicle as a maroon Chevrolet SUV with Pennsylvania tags. A police lookout was able to identify the suspected vehicle and found it parked unoccupied outside a business in Thurmont, Maryland. Investigators say they located the driver, later identified as Paradine, inside the business and executed a search warrant on his vehicle.
Police say they recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun and a spent shell casing of the same caliber. Paradine is currently charged with attempted murder, use of a gun in the commission of a felony, and other related offenses. He was arrested, transported to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack for processing, and is now awaiting an initial appearance before a district court commissioner.
The Maryland Department of State Police is urging all motorists to prioritize highway safety by avoiding impaired and aggressive driving, obeying the speed limit and avoiding distracted driving.
