Police search for 11-week-old puppy taken in Northwest DC burglary

The puppy, named Smoke, was taken from the home along with shoes, clothes and a videogame console.

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help finding a puppy that was stolen during a burglary in Northwest D.C. on Thursday.

According to police, Smoke is an 11-week-old American Bulldog/Mastiff mix. Smoke was taken during a home break-in, in the 4800 block of Illinois Avenue Northwest. A police report indicates someone broke into the home between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and took the dog, along with other property including shoes, clothes and a PlayStation 5.

Police shared a picture of Smoke on their social media pages on Friday in hopes that someone will see him and give them a call.
