Dog stolen from parked car in Southeast DC

WASHINGTON — Police are asking for the public's help finding a dog that was taken from a parked car in Southeast D.C. on Saturday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, a 2-year-old Shih Tzu named Theo was left in a parked car, along with the owner's purse, just before 1 p.m. in the 1900 block of M Street, Southeast.

When the owner returned, they found both Theo and their purse missing. 

Theo was last seen wearing a green collar with a bone-shaped dog tag. Police have released two pictures of Theo in hopes that someone will recognize the stolen animal. 

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at (202) 727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department offers a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone with provides information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a person responsible for a crime committed in the District of Columbia.
