Ex-NBA player Delonte West arrested in Virginia for resisting arrest, violating release conditions

After being released from the hospital, he was taken into custody.

GROVETON, Va. — Former NBA player and DMV native Delonte West is back in custody Thursday after violating the conditions of his release.

West was arrested in Groveton, Virginia after being chased down by officers, Fairfax County Police said.

Police found West unresponsive after they lost sight of him during the chase on Fairchild Drive and gave him Narcan, which did not work. He was then taken to an area hospital for help, where Narcan was given again. This time, it worked and he was revived.

After being released from the hospital, West was taken into custody. He was served with a warrant for Violation of Conditions of Release and charged with resisting arrest.

He is being held on bond.

This arrest comes after a very public struggle with his own mental health.
