4 boys arrested after Navy Yard armed robbery

Police said the boys assaulted someone who was waiting for a ride-share and then robbed them.

WASHINGTON — Four young boys were arrested early Tuesday morning after police said they assaulted a person during an armed robbery in Navy Yard.

Shortly after midnight, the group of boys approached a person who was waiting for a ride-share in the 1000 block of Half Street, Southeast.

DC Police said one of the boys assaulted the victim with a gun and the boys began taking things from the victim’s pockets.

The victim was able to get away and the suspects fled the scene with their property. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Officers searched the area and found all four boys and placed them under arrest. Police said three guns were recovered as well as the victim's property.

The boys, who aren't being identified due to their ages, are 12, 13, 14, and 15 years old. They're all facing armed robbery charges.
