HYBLA VALLEY, Va. — Police are investigating after a teenage boy was shot and injured in Hybla Valley Wednesday evening.
Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department responded to Janna Lee Avenue, off of Buckman Road, after a report of a shooting. Just before 6 p.m., Sky9 spotted a police presence in the area, which looks to be an apartment complex, investigating the crime.
Police say the victim, solely identified as a boy in his late teens, was injured in the shooting. He is expected to recover for the injuries, which have been described as not being life-threatening.
Through an initial investigation, the police department believes the shooter and victim in the case knew each other. No information has been released about who the shooter might be and if charges will be forthcoming.
