Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the intersection of 18th Street Northeast and Benning Road Northeast just before 11 p.m. after a report of a shooting. At the location they found an injured man.

Police say he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. No information has been released identifying the victim, such as his age and where he is from.

MPD says they are looking for two men in connection to the shooting. According to police, one of the men was wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, red underwear or shirt underneath and was armed with a handgun at the time of the shooting. The second person was wearing a white, yellow and black hoodie, white pants, and driving a white moped.
