LORTON, Va. — What started as a rideshare taken between two people ended in gunfire in Lorton on Wednesday.
Officers with the Fairfax County Police Department arrived at Ashland Woods Lane just after midnight after a report of a shooting. They learned that two people, not known to each other, took a rideshare together after being picked up from different locations.
They were dropped at their final destinations that were close to each other. The two then argued, again, and one of them shot at the victim multiple times. The victim was not hit, and the man who fired a gun ran away.
Through an investigation, police say the shooter was identified as 32-year-old Yusef Roy, of Lorton, and arrested. He was charged with malicious wounding, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
The police department also executed a search warrant on his home and found several guns.
