WASHINGTON — Police are investigating two triple shootings in D.C. Wednesday night that left five wounded and a sixth person dead. While the two shootings have not been connected, police say they are looking for a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee in both crimes.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the latest shooting happened near 7th and O Street NW around 9:30 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found two men had been shot. The victims were taken to an area hospital for help, where a third man also walked in with a gunshot wound. Two of the men are expected to survive but the third victim has since died. Originally police reported four victims but have since updated that number. The person who died was identified by police as 34-year-old Deangelo Jones of Northwest.
In a press conference Wednesday night, MPD Chief Pamela A. Smith said investigators are searching for what is believed to be a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee.
