WASHINGTON — A man was stabbed and shot to death in Southeast D.C. on Sunday, and a day later police arrested the alleged man responsible for the act.
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to 14th Street Southeast, off of Massachusetts Avenue Southeast, around 7:30 p.m., after receiving a report of an assault.
Once at the scene, they found a man, later identified as 36-year-old Orlando Galloway, suffering from a gunshot and stab wounds. A woman was also found suffering from a stab wound inside of a residence.
The woman was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries, but Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
Police arrested 39-year-old Julius Worthy, of Southeast D.C., on Monday for the deadly incident. He was then taken to the Homicide Branch and charged with second degree murder while armed and assault with intent to kill.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
