3 shootings reported in DC within 30 minutes

A Metro Transit Police officer shot a person who allegedly stabbed another person at the Anacostia Metro Station.

WASHINGTON — Police are investigating multiple shootings across D.C. reported within 30 minutes Thursday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the first shooting was reported in the 4000 block of Minnesota NE just after 4:30 p.m. There is no word on any injuries at this time and police have not released any suspect information. 

Less than 10 minutes later, a Metro Transit Police officer shot a person who allegedly stabbed another person at the Anacostia Metro Station. Investigators said two people were transported from the Metro station after the incident. Their conditions and identities are unknown at this time.  

Then just after 5 p.m., officers were called to a third shooting in the 2900 block of Knox Place SE. There is no word on any injuries at this time and police have not released any suspect information.
