WASHINGTON — An overnight shooting in Southeast D.C. has left one person dead and two others injured, and has sparked an investigation into what happened.
Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to D Street Southeast, nearby 33rd Street Southeast, around 12:50 a.m. after a reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they found three adults injured due to the shooting.
One man was found unconscious and barely breathing, according to police, as well as suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital to be treated, but was pronounced dead.
Another man and a woman were also found injured, but they were conscious and breathing. They were also taken to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries. No information has been released about their current conditions.
No information has been released about a potential person of interest in the case as well as a motive in the shooting case.
