WASHINGTON — Detectives are investigating after a 26-year-old man was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. Thursday afternoon.
Around 2:53 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Alabama Avenue, Southeast for the sounds of gunshots.
At the scene, officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and after finding no signs consistent with life, the victim remained on the scene until taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The victim in this case has been identified as 26-year-old Khalil Jones of Southeast, D.C., according to a news release.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
