CALVERTON, Md. — Police are investigating after a husband and wife were found shot to death in Calverton Thursday night.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were requested to do a welfare check at a home in the 3600 block of Stonehall Drive around 6:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found 78-year-old Ji Tu and 72-year-old Li Tu shot to death. Police say they believe Ji Tu shot and killed his wife, Li Tu, before killing himself.

Detectives say they are working to understand a possible motive behind the deadly shooting. They say there is any ongoing threat to the community.
