19-year-old arrested for fatal stabbing 2 people at Wheaton mall in January 2017

WHEATON-GLENMONT, Md. — A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged after police say he fatally stabbed two people in January 2017 at the Westfield Wheaton Mall in Wheaton, Md. 

King Yassin Leigh-Conteh was arrested on Monday after an arrest warrant was issued. He has been charged with two counts on first-degree murder.

On Jan. 10, 2017, police say Leigh-Conteh stabbed 24-year-old Angel Alfredo Gomez-Pineda and 22-year-old Kevin Siloe Moya Cruz at the mall in Wheaton, Md. Police located the victims on the lower level of the mall suffering from life-threatening injuries. 

Police say both victims were taken to the hospital where they later died from their injuries. 

The investigation is still active and ongoing, police said.
