GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Police are investigating after the body of an 18-year-old woman was found inside a home in Montgomery Village Wednesday afternoon. Her death is believed to be a homicide.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, officers were called to the 18600 block of Calypso Place shortly before 4:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers and crews from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue found the body of an 18-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the home.
The woman has not yet been identified and her body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.
There is no information available regarding how the woman died at this time but police are investigating her death as a homicide. No suspect is in custody at this time and no descriptions have been released.
Police say the woman will be identified once next of kin has been notified.
