14 firearms recovered during arrest by Maryland Car Rally Task Force

Agents say they recovered 14 firearms, including eight handguns and six rifles.

MARYLAND, USA — The Maryland Car Rally Task Force says investigators recovered 14 firearms, including handguns and various rifles, following the arrest of a man connected to illegal street car meetups throughout the area.

In June, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force began investigating the illegal street exhibitions taking place throughout Prince George's, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore counties. As the force began its investigation, Adin Tyrone Carr, 20, was identified in a viral video where he was hanging out of the passenger window holding an AR-style pistol.

This triggered a deeper investigation, in collaboration with the Attorney General's Office into Carr and his background. It was discovered that Carr was not supposed to have any form of firearms because he is underage.

The legal age to own a handgun in Maryland is 21 years old; 18 for rifles and shotguns. As a result, Carr was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a handgun and other charges.

On Wednesday, the MCRTF in collaboration with other agencies served two search and seizure warrants for a home in Rockville and District Heights. In those homes, investigators recovered 14 firearms including eight handguns and six rifles.

When Carr was arrested in the District Heights home, officers say they recovered an additional gun in his possession.

This is an ongoing investigation as the Maryland Car Rally Task Force continues to crack down on illegal street car meetups in the area.
