WASHINGTON — A 12-year-old boy has been taken to an area hospital after a shooting Sunday in Northeast, D.C. Police say an investigation reveals the boy accidentally shot himself.
This is the second boy injured over the weekend after accidentally shooting himself in Northeast, D.C.
Just before 4 p.m., officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting on Jay Street, near Kenilworth Park, in Northeast. A 12-year-old was found shot and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. It was later revealed that he accidentally shot himself. He is expected to be ok.
