WASHINGTON — A 12-year-old was arrested after police say he robbed someone in Northwest D.C. last month.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the robbery happened in the 1400 block of Irving Street, Northwest shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 10.
In the incident report, police claim the 12-year-old asked the victim if he was from the area. When the victim said no and tried to keep walking, the boy told him to stop. The victim told the boy to chill, to which the 12-year-old reportedly said "I'll poke you". It was then the victim told police he heard what sounded like "a handgun when its slide is rack to the read."
The boy reportedly took the victim's cellphone from his pocket.
"[The victim] did not physically see the object because he was afraid to look down," the report reads.
The 12-year-old then ran away with the victim's phone and backpack, as well as other items. Just a little more than a month later, the 12-year-old was arrested and charged with robbery.
