The Judy Lowe Park will reopen on a temporary schedule

According to the city website, the temporary schedule and any news about the park will be posted to the Judy Lowe Park website.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Judy Lowe Neighborhood Park will open on a temporary schedule.

On Sept. 1, the city of Alexandria updated the Judy Lowe Park web page to inform residents that the park will be open on a temporary schedule.

That's after the United States Secret Service on Aug. 26 requested that the park be closed off to everyone so they could provide security to a Secret Service Protectee. The agency did not release the name of the person being protected, but many speculated that it was GOP Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance.

After many residents voiced their concerns, the U.S.S.S made a follow-up request on Aug. 31 to have the park operate on a modified schedule with intermittent closures.

According to the city website, the temporary schedule and any news about the park will be posted to the Judy Lowe Park website. There will also be signage posted throughout the park with times and dates visitors can be at the park.

When the park is open to the public, residents will be able to access it from Commonwealth Ave. and the unit block of E. Del Ray Ave. As of now, street parking along E. Del Ray Ave is prohibited.
