CHEVERLY, Md. — The Prince George's County Fire Department is celebrating a small victory.
On Thursday, firefighters with the department rescued a deer that was stuck between two fences in Cheverly. With the help of some hand tools, firefighters were able to free the trapped deer. They had to cut through a wire fence in order to rescue the animal.
The department posted about the heroic efforts of its firefighters to its Facebook page, sharing pictures of the deer that got stuck.
After consultation with a local wildlife agency, it was determined that the deer would recover in the wild. The deer is expected to be ok.
