WASHINGTON — DC police and firefighters are coming together to celebrate a longtime resident in Northeast. Bessie Johnson, known as Grandma Johnson, turned 100 years young on Saturday, and first responders wanted to make it a milestone to remember.
Police and fire crews from D.C.'s Fifth District planned a caravan celebration past Ms. Johnson's house on Tuesday. Johnson has lived in the same house for more than 60 years and has lived in D.C. for more than 80 years.
We are wishing Grandma Johnson the happiest of birthdays as she joins the century club!
