Anti-Semitic vandalism found on playground at elementary school in Falls Church

FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Anti-Semitic vandalism was found on a playground at an elementary school in Falls Church on Monday afternoon, police said. 

The vandalism of a playground canopy was found at Mt. Daniel Elementary School located at 2328 N. Oak St. 

Police said a teacher saw that the fabric was slashed in several places and one set of the cuts was in the shape of a swastika. 

Police stated that the vandalism happened sometime between 1:30 p.m on Friday, February 22 and 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 25. 

Parents at the school were notified. 

"The City of Falls Church takes acts of anti-Semitic vandalism very seriously," said Police Chief Mary Gavin. "Our community will not stand for this unacceptable crime of hatred. We urge anyone with information to reach out to us immediately."
