FREDERICK, Md. — A Frederick pediatrician is facing charges after being accused of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old girl during an exam at his medical practice.
Wednesday, a judge set Dr. Ernesto Torres’ bond at $100,000 with the condition he be detained at his home, not have any unsupervised contact with patients or minors and surrender his passport.
The State’s Attorney’s Office said they had 11 additional potential victims come forward in the case and they are working to review if any of the accusations are “sufficient to charge.”
Officials recommended parents talk to their children about body boundaries and safety. They also scheduled a community conversation for Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. in the Frederick City Annex (140 West Patrick Street) about how to have difficult conversations with your children.
If you believe your child may have been a victim, police said to contact Detective Sean McKinney at (240) 578-5683. The Frederick Police Department Victim Service’s Unit is also available to provide support and they can be reached at (301) 600-1356.
