Smoke/Monoxide detectors exclusively sold on Amazon fail to work, recall alert issued

The recall was issued on Thursday, May 16, after five people reported detectors failing to alarm during the presence of smoke.

WASHINGTON — The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall on the CHZHVAN Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors. The recall was issued because the detectors weren’t alerting consumers to smoke or fires.

This model is exclusively sold on Amazon with approximately 6,800 units sold. The recall was issued on Thursday, May 16, after five people reported detectors failing to alarm during the presence of smoke.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Anyone with this model of smoke/carbon monoxide detector is being told to return it to the vendor for a full refund.
