Rainbow metro railcar, bus return for Pride

WMATA announced a Pride-themed wrap for bus and train railcars.

WASHINGTON — The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) announced Thursday the return of the beloved rainbow-wrapped metro railcar and bus for Pride month.

From June 1 to June 30, the special buses and trains are coming out to transport riders across the area, including to and from the Capital Pride Parade and other festivities.

Riders can track the location of the Pride vehicles at wmata.com/live under the Special Edition tab.

The bus emblazoned with “Be True. Be You. On Metro.” will join the parade on June 8 along with Metro employees passing out swag.

Metro also released a line of Pride merchandise, including shirts, mugs and more, that matches the retro theme of this year’s Capital Pride.
