LARGO, Md. — Free pet adoptions at the Prince George’s County Animal Services Facility and Adoption Center (ASFAC) are available from May 10 to May 31 due to a “near critical capacity in its dog population,” according to a press release.
The ASFAC is waiving adoption fees and seeking fosters in an effort to give the dogs at the facility a second chance at a forever home.
“We need the community’s help for these dogs in our care as we reach our capacity,” said David Fisher, associate director of the animal services facility.
The adoption center is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“We encourage anyone who loves pets to find room in their heart and home to adopt one of our many dogs. This is especially the case with our dogs that are 50+ pounds,” Fisher said. “Please remember that big dogs need love, too!”
