WASHINGTON — Five dogs have been given a second chance after being rescued from a Southeast, D.C. apartment.
On Monday, DC Fire and EMS crews were responding to a call about a possible water leak at an apartment on Fendall Street, Southeast when they heard what they thought was barking.
It turns out, five dogs who were left abandoned and neglected were found inside the apartment.
Crews then contacted DC Police and the Human Rescue Alliance to help. Members of both organizations showed up to get the dogs out safety.
All five will be evaluated and treated for any possible medical issues, then placed for adoption if all checks out.
