Hands on experience with DC Fire and EMS | Get Uplifted

The Digital Pioneers Academy and Trinidad Recreation Center were treated to hands on experience at DC Fire and EMS's Training Academy.

WASHINGTON — D.C.'s bravest and their commitment to engaging young people in our community is helping to get us uplifted.

Over the weekend, DC Fire and EMS hosted young girls from the Digital Pioneers Academy, a tuition free public charter middle and high school in Southeast D.C. that specializes in computer science, and the Trinidad Recreation Center in Northeast D.C. for a hands-on experience at its training academy.

The young ladies learned some of the keys of basic training, such as hands-on-hearts CPR, how to spray water from a hose, riding a fire truck, and spraying a fire extinguisher. It's an experience these 'could be' cadets will likely never forget and who knows maybe they are some new recruits in the making.
