MINERAL, Va. — Reporting live from a elementary school in the Commonwealth -- and this news is getting us uplifted.
The future of the news industry is displayed proudly with about 25 students in Central Virginia as they are learning what it means to dive into the world of broadcast journalism. They have created their original newscast at Jouett Elementary School in Louisa County.
It's called "Trailblazing News" and they're really living up to their name. The kids write, edit, and shoot a full newscast that students can watch on YouTube.
The Get Up DC team has given the kids a nod of approval, saying they are off to a great start. Maybe even one day they will be seen on WUSA9 in the future.
