SURRY COUNTY, Va. — An amazing offer from a Virginia woman is not only getting us uplifted, but also uplifting brides-to-be.
With spring on the horizon, so is the start of wedding season. Debra Thornburgh owns Pins and Needles Alterations in Surry County, Virginia.
When a friend in nearby Williamsburg closed their shop, they gave Thornburgh 44 brand new wedding gowns. Now she is trying to spread the word that she will give them away to brides who are struggling to afford their weddings.
"I would like to find some brides that would enjoy these beautiful gowns on their wedding day," Thornburgh said.
"It is incredibly generous and also really can take a weight off of trying to figure out, like how to have a picture perfect wedding and be able to pay your bills the next month," Anna Hansen said.
In addition, brides don't have to worry about finding the perfect fit as she is also offering to do any alterations needed.
