Married 78 years and still feeling the love | Get Uplifted

The couple says they're just as in love now as they were when they said their vows 78 years ago.

WAYNESBORO, Va. — It's Valentine's Day which means love is in the air and on the brain. It's also helping us get uplifted.

When talking about that four-letter word, a couple from Waynesboro, Virginia, just west of Charlottesville, knows all about it. They are celebrating their 78th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day!

Marsden Champaign is 100 years old and his wife Bobbie is 101. They lived for years in Northern Virginia, but now call Waynesboro home.

They first met on a train in Texas in 1944, and the rest is history. This includes three kids, a bunch of grandkids, as well as great grandkids.

Their advice for making a relationship last -- don't sweat the small stuff.

"You have to recognize that person is far more important than any of those little issues," Marsden said. "It chokes me up because I'm so lucky."
