Maryland mom pens kids' book series on the power of positive thinking | Get Uplifted

Her kids are involved as well, with her daughter illustrating the book at age 12, along with her sons serving as editors.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — The impact that teaching young people the power of positive thinking has is worth celebrating, and seeing it happen right in the DMV is uplifting.

Maryland mom Chrishawn "Kris" Murray is an author, speaker and educator who is behind a book series called, "The Great I Am." Her kids are involved as well, with her daughter illustrating the book at age 12, along with her sons serving as editors.

All three also take part in story time activities, and do voiceovers for her video content.

The books focus on nurturing young minds with affirmations like "I love that I am awesome," "What I believe I can achieve," and "I love those that I can help, those who count on me!"

The books are meant to encourage kids and let them know early on that they can, as said in the book, "Use their super power to create the world around them!"

Murray's reach extends beyond the pages of her children's book, she also has a free tutoring program in Prince George's County and is having a literacy rally event at ELife Restaurant in Capitol Heights on Sunday, Feb. 25.
