WASHINGTON D.C., DC — DC streetwear brand and boutique The Museum has partnered with Under Armour for a sneaker collection that honors the DC culture.
The three colorways of the Under Armour Apparition shoe are inspired by the iconic DC Cherry Blossoms and the United States Botanic Garden. The limited collection dropped Sunday, both in-store and online.
The 'Give 'Em Their Flowers' collection is named for the deep appreciation that The Museum says it has for the DC community that has supported them from the beginning.
The first colorway, with different greens and floral-inspired laces, is a dedication to the United States Botanic Garden.
The second sneaker celebrates the Okame Cherry Tree, known for its vibrant pink and purple-hued blooms. The UA Apparition shoe comes with fuzzy green laces as well as burgundy and gold laces to honor the Washington Commanders.
The third sneaker is a special limited edition shoe that represents the iconic Cherry Blossom trees that were gifted to the U.S. by Japan in 1912. The flower symbolizes friendship and family. The owners of The Museum dedicated this shoe to a close friend who recently passed away. There are only 50 pairs available in this colorway.
This is the third collaboration between the Athletic brand and The Museum. The first was the streetwear brand's spin on a pair of Curry's, and the second was a Metro-inspired Forge lifestyle sneaker earlier this year. The drop celebration takes place Aug. 25 at 12 p.m. at Sycamore and Oak at 1110 Oak Dr. SE.
