LEESBURG, Va. — Preschoolers at Primrose Schools across the DMV are getting us uplifted by their generosity.
Because of the outpouring of giving, two local organizations that help kids, will get much needed funds to keep their missions moving forward. The preschoolers have donated over $11,000 for their annual fundraising drive.
The money will go to Ellie's Hats, a non-profit in Loudoun County that sends care packages to kids fighting cancer across the country. And each care package includes colorful fun hats.
Money is also being sent to the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center. That organization provides a safe space for young victims of abuse and assault who want to talk about what happened.
Five local schools participated including the Primrose School of Aldie, Arlington, Leesburg at Potomac Station, Moorefield Station and South Riding.
The kids were able to raise the funds by putting on activities like bake sales, pony rides, carnival games, and silent auctions. It's all part of the school's curriculum where kids are taught the value of giving back and engaging in their communities.
