CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. — Some of the joys of childhood is getting us uplifted.
The Washington Commanders recently helped build a playground for kids in Prince George's County. They partnered with the group KABOOM!, which is based in Bethesda to make it happen.
Among other things, the organization is dedicated to ending play-space inequity.
The brand new playground can be found at the Oakcrest Community Center in Capitol Heights, just about five minutes away from Commanders field.
Former Washington player Josh Morgan was also there to lend a helping hand. He grew up in the DMV playing for both Eastern Senior High School and H.D. Woodson in D.C. before going on to play at Virginia Tech.
This new playground could help inspire children to get outside, stay active, and just be a kid.
