SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Military members stationed overseas will soon have a little bit of home with them.
Over 100 volunteers spent Christmas in Springfield packing care boxes for "America's Adopt a Soldier" program.
This is the 13th annual care packing for service members overseas.
"We try to get 300,000 care letters and cards in cause we have about 80,000 veterans and veterans' homes and hospitals. So, we try to get at least ten cards to each one of them," says Founder Mary Keeser.
In total, 150 care packages were sorted, packed, taped, stamped for U.S. soldiers overseas and veterans. All packages were mailed on Christmas.
