The Try Guys eat everything in DC on tour

Try Guy Keith Habersberger is eating his way through seven U.S. cities, and he's inviting you to come with him.

WASHINGTON — Have you ever wondered if everything on a large menu of a chain restaurant is good? If so, Keith Habersberger is your man.

Habersberger is one of the founding members of the Try Guys, a group that started making videos for BuzzFeed in 2014. After four years, the original four men branched off to start their own company, 2nd Try. Now, 10 years since their first video, the company now has over 8 million subscribers on YouTube and recently launched their own streaming service.

Habersberger has been the face of the company’s “Eat the Menu” show on YouTube since the group posted the first episode, “Keith Eats Everything at McDonald’s,” six years ago, back when the group was still with BuzzFeed. Since then, Habersberger has eaten the full menu of restaurants around the country. Now, the company has taken the show on tour to seven U.S. cities, and they’re stopping in D.C. next week.

“People have found comfort and companionship in this show,” Habersberger said. “So I wanted to actually allow people to come eat with me.”

On the tour, Habersberger eats food from different restaurants from the city he’s in, heading to local chains, mom-and-pop shops and crowd favorites.

At the upcoming D.C. show, Habersberger said there’s a lot to look forward to.

“We'll have mumbo sauce,” Habersberger said. “I don't want to spoil too much for the show, but we found a pretty large chain that started in the D.C. area. We try to represent the city.”

Food isn’t the only thing to look forward to in the show. While Habersberger and fellow original Try Guy Zach Kornfeld are hosting, there will be musical numbers and several guests will make an appearance — and D.C. may be getting the biggest surprises of the tour, Habersberger teased.

“We have some honestly unbelievable guests that I can't tell you about in D.C.,” Habersberger said. “... especially for the YouTube community.”

Catch the Try Guys at the Warner Theatre on Sept. 21.
