HILLCREST HEIGHTS, Md. — Legendary musician Stevie Wonder surprised shoppers at The Shops at Iverson on Wednesday by showing up to grab a box of cookies. The 25-time Grammy Award winner was at the Hillcrest Heights mall with his wife, Robyn Bracy, visiting Pro Cakes.
Pro Cakes posted video of Wonder in the mall on social media, saying, "The legend #steviewonder blessed Iverson Mall today and stopped past Pro Cakes to try the best cookies in the DMV! Yall think he liked them?"
Several commenters were surprised to see Wonder in the DMV, but the Michigan-born musician has a connection to the DMV -- his wife is a Prince George's County native. The two married in 2017, according to the Washington Examiner.
"All the youngins walking by and have no idea that they were in the presence of a legend," one commenter noted.
The Black-owned business is known for its snickerdoodle cookies, and Wonder can be seen on camera enjoying one. Does this end the infamous Forestville Mall vs Iverson Mall snickerdoodle debate?
