WASHINGTON — The chicken has flown the coop, and the rumor is a second Raising Cane's location may be opening up in the District.
The popular Louisiana chicken joint is set to open up shop on M Street, right next to the Sephora, in Northwest, D.C.'s Georgetown neighborhood.
A recent filing with D.C.'s Historic Preservation Office outlines plans for the new location and includes several renderings of what it's supposed to look like, which can be seen below:

The decision to open another location in D.C. comes after Raising Cane's saw success with its first location at Union Station. Once a ghost town, the addition of the restaurant has brought some hustle and bustle back to the station, with some describing the location "like a party" with disco balls hanging inside the restaurant and music playing.
Their menu is simple; with four box combo options and a kid's meal to choose from. Each meal comes with a combination of fried chicken fingers, buttery Texas toast, crispy crinkle-cut fries, and occasionally coleslaw.
Although the chain started in the south, it has quickly grown in popularity across several states. There are stores in 34 states currently, according to the World Population Review.
Before opening its inaugural D.C. location, the closest Cane's locations to D.C. were in Sterling, Virginia near Dulles International Airport, and in Forestville, Maryland.
Soon though, you won't have to put all your eggs in one basket. There will be two Raising Cane's locations easily accessible in the District.
