ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Keith Lee is back at it, and this time, he’s diving into a one-of-a-kind dining experience at Flavor Hive, a quirky food truck parked in Alexandria, Virginia. Known for his honest, down-to-earth food reviews, Lee's second DMV stop has us all buzzing.
For just $35.82, Lee embarked on a culinary journey that left him intrigued.
“This is one of the most unique concepts that I’ve seen in a long time," the TikTok star said.
Bring Your Own Chips (Yes, Really!)
The premise of Flavor Hive is simple yet inventive: you bring your own chips, and they fill them up with whatever toppings you want for a flat rate of $10. Size of the chip bag? Doesn’t matter! Whether you stroll in with a snack-sized Fritos or a family-sized Doritos, it’s the same price. Talk about a chip-lover’s dream.
“It’s surprisingly spicy. A lot of flavor, seasoned really well but it’s cold so that is throwing me off,” Lee commented.
The Chip Challenge
Lee kicked off his taste test with a bag of Sweet Chili Doritos, topped with green sauce, white sauce, and gyro meat. The verdict? A solid 7.5 out of 10.
Next up: Fritos Scoops, generously doused in white sauce, green sauce, and chicken. But this combo didn’t quite hit the mark, earning just a 3 out of 10. "I don't like the chicken," Lee said with a shrug.
Finally, Lee tackled a bag of Tostitos Scoops loaded with everything the Flavor Hive had to offer: beef, sauces, and more. He rated the creation a respectable 7.9 out of 10.
A Two-Person Show
As much as Lee enjoyed the food, he couldn’t help but notice the hustle and bustle inside the truck.
“Only two people were working, and so much was going on,” he observed, acknowledging that it was tough to rate the customer service under those circumstances.
The Flavor Verdict
Overall, Lee walked away impressed with the Flavor Hive’s unique concept, spicy flavors, and the sheer bang for your buck. “I think the reason it’s so popular is that you can feed six to seven people with $10,” Lee mused.
Lee shared his hopes for the food truck’s future.
“I really do like this concept," he said. "I hope and pray that they continue to reach their target audience.”
