WASHINGTON — After a three-year pause, student loan repayments restarted again this month -- marking the beginning of additional money coming out of the pockets of nearly 28 million borrowers.
This could result in people feeling the economic pinch, and Domino's, the popular pizza chain, wants to help with that with a limited-time pizza program.
"Student loans aren't fun but we're here to make them a little better with a free Domino's Emergency Pizza," the pizzeria said on their website. The program, named Domino's Emergency Pizzas for Student Loans, will give away $1 million worth of free emergency pizzas -- which is 67,205 pizzas. The program began on Wednesday, Oct. 25 and runs through Thursday, Nov. 9.
Each day, on a first-come, first-served basis, there will be pizzas available to U.S. residents who are 18 and older through the access of a coupon code. The offer period to get the coupon starts daily during the promotion begins at midnight ET, until the batch for the day is depleted. On the Domino's website, they stated that there is around 4,200 codes released each day.
The coupon code will allow customers to enjoy a medium two-topping pizza, with the code being good until Dec. 10, 2023.
"If you’re feeling the pain of having to pay off your student loan, we want to help in our own little way with free pizza," Domino's said. "Your journey to a free pizza starts just like your journey to college: with an application."
