WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police are searching for whoever left an injured dog tied to a guardrail in Woodbridge Sunday.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to the area of Oakwood Drive and Armada Place just before 4:30 p.m. for reports of animal cruelty.
When officers arrived, they learned a woman left a dog next to a guardrail roughly 30 minutes earlier before leaving in a black Nissan. A short time later, a good Samaritan found the dog, which appeared to be suffering from a broken leg.
The dog, described as a young brown chihuahua mix, was taken to the Animal Services Center to help. Now Animal Control officers are asking for the public's help in identifying the dog as they try to figure out what happened leading up to the animal's abandonment.
