An injured bald eagle was rescued from Metro tracks on Wednesday evening in Landover, Md.
The eagle was spotted on the tracks of Blue/Silver lines, which caused Metro trains to single track in the area, according to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.
A team of eight wildlife individuals recovered the eagle from the tracks. Metro said the eagle will be handed over to DC City Wildlife for care.
The eagle was spotted on the tracks near the Addison Road Metro Station around 5:15 p.m. Metro said the eagle appeared to be injured.
Metro riders experienced delays while appropriate animal resources responded to take care of the eagle.
