NORTH BETHESDA, Md. — Give this goose a gander!
It was spotted stuck in between split trunks near the base of a tree Friday morning in North Bethesda. A passerby called Animal Services, who came with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue to save the little guy on Citadel Avenue off Old Georgetown Road.
Firefighters brought a ladder to climb over a fence to get to the stuck goose. Once they were on the other side, they were able to carefully capture and lift it out. The goose is being checked out by Animal Services.
It's unclear how the goose got in this sticky situation.
November is part of goose-hunting season in Maryland, but there are specific regulations for waterfowl hunters in the state, according to Maryland's Department of Natural Resources. Thanks to Animal Services and the fire department, this goose is safe and sound.
