WASHINGTON — A dog has been reunited with her family after a scary ordeal in Northwest D.C.
DC Fire and EMS announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, Thursday night that officials from their department came to the aid of a doggie in distress. This was on Garfield Terrance Northwest, off of Cleveland Avenue Northwest, in the Woodley Park area.
The dog, named Ruby, was stuck in a hole -- not just any hole, but one that was about eight feet deep. Rescue Squad 2 was able to secure the dog with a rope. She was removed from the hole safely and uninjured.
It's not clear how Ruby ended up in the hole in the first place, but we're happy she is safely back home.
