Body of bear found in plastic bear near Arlington walking trail

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is asking the public for any information related to this incident.

ARLINGTON, Va. — The body of bear was found in a plastic bag near a walking trail on Friday night, according to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington,

Animal Control responded to a report of a deceased dog around Spout Run Parkway near North Adams Street around 8:30 p.m. Friday, but instead found a black bear inside a plastic bag. 

The bear was removed for further investigation, and the Animal Welfare League of Arlington is asking the public for information related to this incident. Anyone who may have seen a person or persons carrying a large plastic bag in the area is urged to call 703-931-9241 or email animalcontrol@awla.org
