(CBS/KMOX) -- A great story out of Illinois for the holidays.
A couple in Red Bud had their 1998 Buick repossessed. The man is 82 and his wife is 70, and they owed about $2,500.
The repo man, Jim Ford of Belleville, Illinois, felt bad about the situation and created a GoFundMe page for the couple’s expenses, raising $3,500 in one night.
“When I got home that night, I said to myself, ‘They are a real nice elderly couple. I gotta do something. I can’t just take their car,’” Ford said.
Ford not only paid off the car, but he fixed the headlight, filled the radiator and changed the oil. He then delivered the car to the couple, and gave them the extra $1,000 plus a Thanksgiving turkey.
