Adopt/Foster 72 Dogs in 72 Hours Challenge at HRA this weekend

After the success of ‘48 Dogs in 48 Hours’, the HRA is upping the ante. This weekend, they will be hosting ‘72 Dogs in 72 Hours’.

WASHINGTON — The Humane Rescue Alliance is back with a new adoption challenge in the new year.

After the success of ‘48 Dogs in 48 Hours’, the HRA is upping the ante. This weekend, they will be hosting ‘72 Dogs in 72 Hours’. Currently, over 120 dogs are waiting for loving, new homes.

The event will start Friday, January 5, and run through Sunday, January 7 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Dogs will be available at both locations:

  • 71 Oglethorpe St. NW
  • 1201 New York Ave. NE

If you’re unable to make it to the facility, the Humane Rescue Alliance is simultaneously hosting two adoption events on Saturday and Sunday.

On average, the HRA takes in 78 dogs every week, whether as strays or from owners who can no longer care for them, but only 25 of those are being adopted out of the shelter per week.
